Forum members boomee and Fight_Fan! insulted and cursed me out several times, so I don't feel like updating this list anymore.
boomee http://forums.ignitionusa.net/member.php?u=1781 Fight_Fan! http://forums.ignitionusa.net/member.php?u=1773 You can send them hateful private messages, just follow those links. Sorry, everyone. I'm really not in the mood, I need some time off because of them.Special thanks to DarKaoz for coming up with the idea for a suggestion thread. Since I've been whoring it out everywhere today, I'll post here too
I request a patch to implement an OPTION to activate a proper sprite-art filter for the graphics, rather than the blur filters the game has atm.http://forums.ignitionusa.net/showthread.php?t=1393 |

Glitches
I think this about covers it(the first post), but I would like some of the hit boxes to be looked into. I've had some strange collision detection going on when I jump behind a opponent to hit them and they are swinging where I used to be, Im behind them and punching and my hit misses and they hit me backwards when nothing is in contact with my character. Patch No Command list in the Practice Mode! How can you practice without seeing what your moves are? Need a way to hide info in black bar that covers up the second player in Practice Mode. It looks awkward and feels in the way. No Auto reposition in Practice Mode Want to practice pulling something off and messed up? Need to try again from the beginning at original position? Can't. Must exit the mode or go to character select. |

Thanks a lot for adding my post, and this thread.
Apologies, but I'd like to clarify that Scale2x was just an easily found example by me. I originally suggested hqnx: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hqx Since I vaguely recall it gives better results. Perhaps they could try both and see what looks better / is easier to implement. Not everyone likes graphics filters, but most people who do seem to think the examples I provided look better than the blur filters currently implemented. So I think it's a worthwhile technology for SNK to master since it can then be applied to all of their many 2D games. Last edited by zeech; 07-26-2009 at 05:44 AM. |

Hmm, this is more of a "community development" suggestion, but I think given that KOF12 will be pretty new to most people, and there's very little tutorials or other help in-game, it might be worthwhile for Ignition to hire or appoint a few good writers/editors (possibly from the community with a staff member to oversee them), whose role is to collect community FAQs, information, tips, strategy etc, (possibly also translated from japanese sites) and then to make it neat in a well-formatted wiki easily accessible from the KOF12 website.
So basically raid SRK and other japanese wikis, make everything consistent and neat, and then post it to Ignition's wiki :P They should also develop relationships with top/good players in KOF12, and try to gather analysis and tips to make some good tutorial videos to put on youtube, PSN/xbox live, etc. DandyJ's beginners guide to KOF is a good start, they can redo it with a KOF12 look, fix up anything that doesnt apply to 12, and it will help new / returning players a lot. Not everyone visits forums and wikis, so if they produce a nice series of videos and release it onto PSN + XBL + Youtube it will serve double duty as both tutorial and advertising. KOF XII is simple, it doesn't need a tutorial like BlazBlue. =|
However, for 60 dollars, the least they could have done is include a documentary on what the hell they were doing in the past 4 years. |

Well, it's simple to get into (since it's quite similar to SF), but the key to getting people hooked into fighting games (and other competitive games) is to teach them to be decent at it. (ie. put them on the path to skill
![]() So these tutorials should take people a step beyond beginner, and explain some of the intricacies of the game, some of the RPS, strategy, character-specific stuff, etc. Again DandyJ's guide is interesting since it highlights some of the additional features KOF games have over SF2/4, and how they affect the tactical thinking you need to do. However, I just realised they're selling a game guide book. I assume this is one way Ignition makes money, so perhaps they should wait for sales of the guide book to die down before releasing something superior for free ![]() Edit: I dont want to clutter your thread with discussion, so I'll edit instead: It's easy to forget that games are successful not just because of the game itself, but because of the competitive community it has. Ignition has made a great start promoting the game by holding some tournaments and so forth. Asking them to start planning a structure to channel good player's efforts to help newer players is a realistic suggestion since these guys will be posting in wikis and forums anyway - the information just needs to be organised and presented better. It's something Ignition can do directly, without the tricky part of persuading SNK to do it. They could almost get it for free and just let the community do it all - they just need to have a staff member moderating and checking the thing. Last edited by zeech; 07-26-2009 at 06:56 AM. |

There are some weird issues with the clan system that I posted here: http://forums.ignitionusa.net/showthread.php?t=1405
TL;DR - Members who accidentally send an invite to a clan multiple times are accepted and show up on members' list, but they cannot access clan nor does it show on their profile. Only way to fix it is to play online with them, invite them yourself via profile. |
