View Full Version : King of Fighters XII: Black <- New Expansion.

Yeah, I'm sure most of you know about this game already, but there isn't a thread for it.

They have a release set as "before the end of 2009"

If Mai and K' don't come with the original KOF XII you can expect them to be in the expansion. They will more than likely have new stages, music, characters, retuned engine, and maybe even some endings. You never know.

K' wears all Black, so maybe that's why they are calling it black? But I'm pretty sure people aren't going to have to wait for KOF XIII for new content.

Hopefully KOF XII: Black will hit the consoles as a $20 or so DLC. I would gladly pay that for new music, stages, characters, and balancing.


Or it could just be a barebones expansion for the arcade with just Eliza and mature and retuned gameplay.

This is the only "confirmation" there is, but as you said, it most likely is a rumor for now.

Really would like to know if this rumor is true. This expansion sounds good. I guess it will be a DLC expansion, maybe it doesn't make sense release the disc on July and then release a new one on december, don't you think? I hope SNKP will give us more detalis about what DLC will be and about this rumor.

Versuscity has never lied to me >.>, we'll see. I'm going to keep an eye out around the arcade machine distibutors to see if they have a release date.

It does... kind of remind of you Ninja Gaiden Black, which was an expansion/rework of Ninja Gaiden.

where are all these magical numbers coming from?! Free - $10 is reasonable if we must pay for it. It would have to be 10+ characters before I would even consider $20 on DLC. Sorry that's just not heard of. $5-10 is normal if the company must charge for a large amount of content. Unless your ps3 owners, I have no clue what prices you normally get charged...Heck. PS is charging 250 for the psp go so anything is possible.

PSPgo has...
- smaller screen
- a less ergonomic design
- inability to play existing UMD games
- inability to use most existing peripherals
- inability to use your current memory stick
- less battery life when playing downloaded games
- a greater price = $250 which is what you'll pay for a 360 and a game...

Yeah, for 20 bucks i would need more than just 2 characters.

Like 3 characters, a boss, endings and a few new backgrounds.

I wouldn't pay mor than $10 for just K' and Mai.

Maybe it s just me but i think you misunderstood the news...

from what i understand it s just an update for the arcades

which will include mature and elizabeth which are console only characters for now

If it exists and Mai, Shermie, Shingo, Kula, and Yashiro are in it, I'll buy it no questions asked (heck I'd buy it for 50 dollars if all 5 were in it)

Wouldn't an update like this hurt the competitive validity of the game? I can see tournaments all over saying stuff like "EXPANSION CHARACTERS BANNED", which would suck if you bothered to learn one or two.

That's why when it does come out, it is suppose to or won't come out until many a few months after the home versions are soaked in.

Capcom should really follow suit and bring out some arcade update with the home console characters included. Really, SFIV has been super boring at the arcade for awhile because of this.

That'd be cool. I hope they include some additional characters (K', Mai, Yuri, Kula), new environments, and other great additions.

I sure hope that this is true. I agree though, they shouldn't overcharge for DLC. This should probably be 15 or 20 bucks.

yeah,and having team-mate characters in the background would probably be pretty easy to do.:D bringing back team-mate characters in the background will really give me that "old-school KOF"feel.i want new characters,new environments,new music too.it probably will be 15 to 20 dollars.i've never really seen a re-release of a game higher than the original release.

Not OFFCIALLY confirmed, but it's a rumor that is running in the Japan Arcade scenario, the news comes from a good Japan Arcade Source guy, so it's most likely true.

I heard KOF Black is just an upgraded arcade version that adds Elisabeth and Mature from the console version.

that sounds possible, as well as disappointing.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing to back up the claims on that site. They're also saying that BlazBlue 2 will be on sale in October... no, its not.

Hi, when Blazblue came out, I talked online in some guy's chat in justin.tv with one of the developers of Aksys. The man was called Aksysg who was talking with all of us and answering our questions in the chatbox. He said we have to wait until october for something cool in DLC form. I don't think it's going to be Blazblue 2, just an expansion for the first one.

By the way I really hope this The King of Fighters XII Black is true... I like this last KOF, but i'd love to see more stages, 3 or 4 more characters and a DECENT story mode, with a boss. The actual Story mode is more like a Time Attack mode. And for the graphics... is really that hard to do some filters like the actual emus have? Like 2xSai or HQ... I mean, the programmers of this emus do this for free... Why someone who gains money with this game can't do that? I'm sure that filters would be awesome...

PS: Sorry for my english... I'm from spain ^_^U
