Also interested to know if there's a 360 release, especially in EU since I live there..?
Would give me another good reason to get a stick/use my fightpad more

I can't make any official statements on what console or consoles KoF XII is planned for. All I can say is you will be satisfied when it's announced.

So PS2 since I can't afford a PS3 haha. That's cool though. Glad it looks like Ignition will be handling it. I'm very pleased with the work on 98UM so I have faith you'll do it once again.

I'm hoping these secrets are special console only characters. And thats some mighty huge hoping there.

While your press release is for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, any chance you can hint at whether the rumoured PC version is happening or not?

Features and secrets, huh? Hmm...
More characters would be great, but I'd hate to have the artists go through the trouble of hand-drawing more characters so painstakingly just for a couple bonus characters. Of course, of they want to, then that's cool, but it can't be easy for them to draw each and every sprite. I gotta applaud them for the work they've done thus far. True artists in the game industry, for sure.
I'm hoping other features will be online tournaments , recordable replays (for those epic wins, y'know?), sprite re-coloring (almost every console port of a KOF game as of late has included this feature, so why not here, unless the sprites are too sophisticated and detailed? Not a huge loss if it's not implemented), Japanese and English voiceovers (all 2D ones have had Japanese, so I don't see the need for English voices, but choice is always nice), and multiple single- and multiplayer modes (Survival, Time Attack, Challenges, 1-on-1 rather than teams, etc.).
As for secrets, who knows. Could be more characters, but since this is a 15th anniversary game, it could be unlockable retro KOF games, featurettes, making of vids, retrospectives, artwork, music from older titles, and more. This could the definitive package, if this stuff is included. Even without any of it, I'm still buying it. It's a new KOF with much improved graphics, and that's good enough for me.

Hey someone tell the project leaders for the port that they need to get at Mr. Tony Cannon aka Ponder at www.shoryuken.com about some netcode.

Agreed. Also, if we're going for console exclusive characters, I would suggest King (the Art of Fighting Team is missing 1 more member after all) and Mai or Blue Mary to team up with Kim and Raiden (*'-')b
Also it's funny that K' is in the 15th anniversary logo at the beginning of every trailer, but isn't actually in the game ;( Bring him

Mai and King have to be in the game. The game needs more women and Mai and King are the most classic and popular ones. This is a Re-Birth, right? How can be a Re-Birth without Mai, the most popular female fighter from SNK and a classic character since 94.
I think Mai could complete Kim&Raiden team (FF2 team?), King for AoF team and maybe K' and Elisabeth with Iori. This would be a perfect roster!:)

You guys are aware there is no Teams in 12? But yeah, thought it was kinda funny not having K' in this.
RyuEnBu
03-10-2009, 09:52 AM
of course, no teams... This is why we have Psico Soldier team, classic FF team, Ikari team, Ash team, Hero team....
Come on, there are teams! but some of them are uncompleted...i don't know why..
Rock_Dash3X

Well I meant the game isn't doing story team. Sure, there are members that could make up a team, but it has been said the game doesn't have defined teams or team endings. Also the game doesn't continue the Ash story arc. So there is no need to say that Mai has to be in the game to complete a team as in there are no teams.
That is why it's incomplete. Cause it wasn't really intended to have teams. Now they have a base, they'll probably return with teams in XIII.

I have no problems with this game I like the new critical counter and the old 3 on 3 format and I like the HD hand drawn sprites! (they are just as big as the art of fighting sprites!)
The only thing that bothers me is the roster only two female characters but I do like Athena and Leona and I do like the male characters but it would be nice:
As for the extra charathers they could add in B.Jenet, Hotaru, Yuri, Elisabeth, Kula, K', Maxima, Vanessa, Seth, Ramon, Momoko, Griffon, Rock, Oswald, Blue Mary, Adel, Rose and Mai to name a few.
I know they might not be added in the console version but as DLC might be a possibility!

You really need to put ads of the game on the net, I've seen SFIV's adds in webs about make up... and also in TV wouldn't hurt, the USA needs to know KOF, and guys, you really need to worry not only about getting new fans and customers but also to retain them.
For that purpose I can only think about putting in the homepage -cause the game needs an english homepage- some basic background of the story plot, and you could put more detailed info about some of the character's background in a written game by the purchase of the american version of the home port... that could sell a bit more, right?

Basically, they could put in anyone as console-exclusive characters. Who knows. All I know is that if they do add in anyone, it's gotta be Mai and K'. They're staples, really, and I can't see a KOF without them.
Also, what about a final boss? Is Rugal, Magaki, Adelheid, anyone a final boss?

Dont look for any to too many new characters in the home version. SNK has said that it takes 16-17 months to create a new character in that style. So really think about the time involved for that.
Rock_Dash3X

True, but what if these characters were made already or were being made earlier. Than maybe we can have 1 or 2 characters. But I think most people are counting on DLC for characters.

I will be honest with this. I truly hope that some teasers can be leaked between now and July. The big character announcement in November really ticked a bunch of people off and I'd really like to help draw attention back to this title. I am very, very pleased that we don't have to wait 2-3 years to get this stateside though, so the work you guys are doing is beyond appreciated by fans everywhere.
Here's hoping for a more complete game! (...with AoF 2 King and nice artworks included!)

I hope that there would be secret characters in the game, but I doubt it since, it took so long just to make 20.
Better quality than quantity.
Can't wait for this game.
Still hopeful for the next Maximum impact.

u mean King Of Fighters MI Regulation A ?

I think he meant MI3. It was believed there was gonna be a third one. Only say 3 cause he did bring up a topic in the general thread talking about it.
I wouldn't mind a Reg A in the US. Would buy it cause it's SNK, but doubt I'll play it much.

Based on previous interviews.
It was supposed to be RA2 then MI3
Then three other games before MI1 but who knows at this point.

maybe after KOF XII is released SNK will focus on getting Maximum Impact 3 or RA 1 and 2 over to the states.i would like to see that.:D it would have been cool if Maximum Impact Regulation A was available in a 2-disc pack in with KOF XII.:D

It would be nice considering the game has no codes secrets or nothing just a stripped down KOF MI Game with Ash Mary Xiao Lon and Mizoguchi.
