KOFXII hints at KOFXIII's story??? (tons of videos as reference)

well ya Mature's condition in KOFXII is one thing, there's also Iori's condition in KOFXII that's linked to KOFXI's results. of course the awesome sprites in KOFXII will be used in KOFXIII also. this is why a part of KOFXII is also partially a preparation to start making the characters necessary for KOFXIII. sicne they didn't have time to add them all this time, which is understandable and KOFXII will still be fun as a dream match! :)

so ya, for newcomers alike, it helps to learn what happened in the previous
KOF so they are prepared for when KOFXIII is released maybe next year.

also besides Iori and Mature, Kensou has undergone a change too in KOFXII that will be used in future KOFs that continue the story. Leona's prioritized return over Whip has confirmed further speculation that the Orochi-related factors will be profound in KOFXIII.

So ya even though KOFXII is a dream match, it's an important step to ensure the necessary high quality roster for the climax of the Ash/Sacred Treasure saga in KOFXIII! and KOFXII will be great in its own way too! :)

for me XII isn't a dream match because dream match have almost every character from kof, even dead peopple, while XII doesn't even shows dead peopple and they put the new characters who have something to do with the main storyplot over the popular ones, so I think youre right

XII is a dreammatch because in its current state, it doesn't have everyone to continue the story.

KOF 94 was originally a dreammatch too.

also a dreammatch doesn't need everyone from past KOFs. KOF2002 didn't have Sie Kusanagi, Heidern, and others playable.

I think people can view XII's story as more as a filler episode to an anime. No real reppercussions but with possible clues as to the future of the story.

no even though KOFXII doesn't have a story. it's sprites will be used in KOFXIII's story, and there are already hints of it, like Mature's condition. as well as Iori's new style due to his lack of flames.

so KOFXII does carry a bit of what was originally intended to be the continuation of the current saga, they just didn't have time to complete everyone needed, so they are saving it for KOFXIII.
