It's a bit premature but I wanted to make a thread to talk about Street Fighter 4. It's been 10 years since Capcom released the last Street Fighter game and even longer if you choose not to count the two upgrades it got. Suffice to say, it's been a long long long wait for this game.

So are any of you interested in Street Fighter 4? How do you feel about the cast or the change to 3D. And who of you will I be seeing online to whup in VS. :D

Cripes. What annoys me the most about that is not even the price but that they're all not even available from the first day. I can't even get the final costume pack until mid-March. Low blow Capcom.

Did no one else pick up Street Fighter?

If you didn't your missing out. Easily one of the best games in the SF series and any worries of this being EX4 should be removed from ones head immediately.

I do have one major complaint though. Lobbies support only 2 players? I have a bunch of friends who bought the game but I can only choose play with one of them? The hell Capcom, even DoA4 and Hyper Fighting on XBLA had quarter matches. At least the online is rather smooth though. 3 bars is only slightly off (You can mainly tell when trying to do stuff like wake up attacks) and 4 and up is pretty perfect.

Yeah I picked up SFIV yesterday. I agree, only complaint would be only 2 people lobbies. Probably has something to do with lag issues, which a future patch will more than most likely fix. For now, create an X-Box Live party with your friends and just invite one at a time to a private player match. Easiest way to do it I've seen.

Costumes costing money kind of sucks, but I'd rather have lots of costumes than none at all and just colour palette swaps like OH so many fighting games (Looking at you, SNKP). I also picked up a SFIV fightpad, and it makes the game even better. Focus Attack is much easier to pull off. The d-pad is wide and so for people like me with small hands, circular motions can be tough to do but its not an issue. You just have to adjust rolling your thumb farther than normal. If you're accustomed to the analog stick, no issues should appear for you. It feels like a Saturn controller, and the complaints few have made are complete bs. Diagnols work just fine. Yeah, if you actually sit there and push the button diagnoly and only do that then there can be an issue, BUT who actually plays like that? You keep your thumb centered, and normally are all ready pushing forward/back and then slightly tab up forward/back to jump in that direction. Which works fine, I've all ready gotten 100 medals and several titles in online matches and have over 20 wins so I'm pretty sure I'm good to go. Over all, the entire experience is great so far. Saturday I'll be participating in the Gainseville, Florida SFIV Gamestop tournament at Oaks Mall if anyone else will be there hope to see you.

Ah yes, SFIV. I got this the day it came out last week. I got the Collector's Edition. Well worth the $85 I paid for it. This game is legendary.

The costume packs are a freakin' ripoff, though. Not only do they not look that good, but $4? Please. At least the Championship Mode pack they plan on releasing soon will be free, and will pack in online tournaments and recordable replays.

Its not a huge issues or anything, but still. Also, fireball motions I have a tough time keeping consecutive. I'll tend to throw a punch instead, and sometimes to keep it going I actually have to a hcf motion instead of a qcf motion. Holding down-back to block seems to not work all the time either, occasionally I am being hit when I should not. Perhaps its me though? I'd say wait and see if line 2 of this product turns out better, as line 1 technology does tend to have bugs (line 1 PSX's were so bad you literally had to turn them upside down to make them work). Still, its increased my game ten times over the 360 standard and it works on my PC as well. Oddly enough...I tried out 2002 with it and it works pretty well. I didn't notice any issues, did like five power geysers in a row. I suppose the way SNK programs their games has something to do with it, I'm gonna test 02 with the diagonals and see what I discover. This pad could be incredible for KoF XII and the UM's when/if they hit XBLA. Overall though, good pad for newcommers to SFIV who wish to up their games and play friends and maybe a bit online. Yeah after checking it out even further, I think my problem was the part of my thumb I was using. I'd gotten used to the 360 dpad and how I had to use that one, that the Fightpad took some adjusting. I started trying to use the tip of my thumb a bit more, now its working better though I still feel when I try and low block it doesn't work when it should, and occasionally it still jumps in place. Could be just me though.

So I still see people complaining about Sagat online but really, Sagat is a pansy compared to Zangief. Zangief is just the worst thing about SF4 for me. He deals insane damage, he has the highest health of any character, he has great reach and he only needs 3 moves for any scrub to be competitive. SPD, banishing fist and spamming the lariat. You have to work way to hard to beat this asshole.

If you're a Zangief player then I already hate your guts. ;)

Though I do agree that Sagat is tough and powerful, he is not the worst character. Zangief is cheap on top of cheap. It's mainly cause SF4 has this weird cross cancel. You can pretty much power bomb or whatever your opponent while they are mid attacking. It's hella cheap.

My SF4 was only a rental. Have people stopped complaining about Ryu/Ken/Akuma yet? I'm a Sakura player and I used to get spill over from time to time. "Damn Shotos."

And Sagat is pure awesome, but he's definitely not broken. I didn't face many Zangief's during my rental peiod, but I don't remember beating the few that I did.

ziangief isnt that hard to beat well in my case (i use cammy) but the charge type characters those are the cheap asshole they just crouch and wait for you do something so they just counter your attacks, thats why i prefer kof over sf. in kof its not much of a stratagy going during matches but in sf v.v .oh and i think the real cool/unbeatable character is vega seriously u cant compare a good ryu with a good vega

I mostly use Shotokan Characters but im capable of using anyone. Zangief vs Cammy is never a good match up if your using the cpu but she always runs into his crouching punch for some reason it's actually a easy way for getting trophies is to use him.

i really love SFIV,it's a great game and most of the characters are balanced SFIV has that SF2 feel to it.i wish some of the characters i wanted would have made it but the graphics and gameplay are top-notch.and the music is great too.:D i wish there maybe would have been alittle more stages.i love the artwork too and i also love the fact the cut-scenes were hand-drawn anime scenes! nice.:cool: but some of the levels that are night and day,those could have been brand-new levels i feel the levels should have changed night and day between rounds,not totally seperate stages:confused:.and Seth isn't that cool of a last boss IMO.

yeah,Seth isn't THAT bad Capcom could have did alot worse,but at the same time they could have did alot better also.Seth is pretty much a bold Gill without the half red/half blue body,and there's also a "Watchmen" vibe to Seth too.i just don't think Seth stands out too much.the only thing that stands out and that's cool about Seth really is his ULTRA move,and his stomach.:D

i have never been good with Vega,no matter how much i try i just suck with him and i've been trying since SF2.most characters in SFIV got improved someway.Balrog's dash-punches are faster to execute,alot of "charger" characters moves are faster this time.my only gripe:do you notice how fast the life bar depletes? 2 moves and an ULTRA and your dead pretty much.:eek: not sure who i play with best,i do very well with Fei-Long and Dan though.:D

Did anyone give Championship mode a try? I did and soon found every fight to be the fight of my life. Where did all these good players come from? I can handle people in the 2000-3000bp range but from my recent experience that means nothing in Championship. Never the less it's a great addition. If Capcom can finally include a good lobby system then Street Fighter IV will be complete.

It plays the same(mostly) but it doesn't feel the same. I like that because it made the old characters feel new. Playing Ryu vs Ken in HDR feels nothing like playing Ryu vs Ken in IV which is great.

If you do not lose. Easy SF series, which is EX4 any worries one of the best games, the head should be removed immediately. I have a major complaint. Lobby supports only two players?
