Toriyama Robots and a Character Question

I'm looking for a little help. Does anyone know the best place to find Akira Toriyama robot artwork? I enjoy mecha and his robots have a unique style that I'm finding increasingly interesting.

I have seen him featured in Toriyama's comics as what looked to be a mascot character and he appears to be a playable character listed on the Blue Dragon website. Who is he supposed to be? Is it a mascot character Toriyama brought over to Blue Dragon or did he just recycle the design?

The gas mask dude is Toripo and as I understand it he is how Toriyama depicts himself in comics and such. I don't know the specific reason why/how he found himself in Blue Dragon but he's there.
