Is this supposed to be a real sequel to Blue Dragon or is it a side game? I heard it was a sequel but I thought Blue Dragon 2 would be on the xbox.

It is indeed a direct sequel to Blue Dragon. So if you wish to see where the adventure goes beyond the first BD, then this is the game you want to play.

Actually, as I read today, in an interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi, he confirmed that a Blue Dragon 2 was in the development process. He stated that the game would more than likely come out on the Xbox 360 and that the game may go online. According to my resources, the game will be called Blue Dragon 2, Burū Doragon Tsū.

Burū Doragon Tsū being the japanese name, of course.
