Talk about you Bluray collection and any tibits you wish to say about them here. I'll start:
Crank
This is the best looking Bluray I've seen. Crystal clear super sharp image. I pretty much just use this as my showpiece Bluray. The movie itself isn't too good but it's decent braindead fun.
The Road Warrior
The Road Warrior, Mad Max 2, whichever title you prefer. One of my all time favorite movies and one excellent looking Bluray. From what I've seen this is the best looking Bluray of an 80's flick. It almost looks like it was made today. Quite surprising since they've stiffed us on a decent DVD release in the US. Also, despite not being mentioned on the box the movie is actually uncut which, I believe, is the first time the US has gotten an uncut version of Road Warrior. The only real drawback of the Bluray is the extras, or lack thereof. A new commentary was included but that's about it. No making-of, behind the scenes of anything cool like that. Oh well, the movie is enough to satiate my thirst.
Rambo: First Blood Part 2
80's action insanity. I love the Rambo series and this one is my favorite. Sure it's full of cheese and is completely unbelievable but so what. Pure action and adrenaline delivered flawlessly. Picture quality is good, nothing special but I can say without a doubt that this is the best this movie has ever looked.
Rambo
The fourth(And possibly final) movie in the Rambo series. A decent movie with an incredible action packed ending sequence. I found it ok at first but it gets better with more viewings. Picture quality is good. It's not a showpiece by any means but one won't be disappointed.
Commando
Arnold's version of Rambo 2 except they removed even more of the story/depth and replaced it with action. I found the picture quality to be mediocre. Sure it looks better than DVD but there's no reason for it to have not looked considerably better. They completely skipped out on the extras and only offered a SD trailer. Doesn't help that the uncut version of the movie came out beforehand. Unless you don't mind double dipping I'd wait for a better release.
Kingdom of Heaven
A solid movie provided you watch the director's cut. In fact if you plan on not watching the director's cut then I recommend you skip the movie altogether and it cuts out way too many key sequences that really change the movie. Picture quality was excellent. Not the best but in the 9/10 territory. Definitely worth checking out if your interested.
Casino Royale
I'm a HUGE James Bond fan. I wasn't a fan of the series during the Pierce Brosnan era and Die Another Day was Batman and Robin bad. So I was completely blown away when I saw Casino Royale. The jump in quality from the Brosnan movies was outstanding and I couldn't have been happier. Picture quality is also excellent. One of the best looking Blurays one can buy.
That's pretty much all I own(I generally Netflix them). I plan to pick up The Dark Knight soon as well.
Ok, your turn.

I have The Dark Night which is my favorite Bluray.
Shooter is another good one I have. A good movie with superior picture.
Regrettably, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I bought this before seeing the movie. It looked beautiful but the movie stunk.

Right now Bluray's are out of my price range but I plan to buy more some day.
So far I've bought Wings of Honneamise and stopped there. I will buy Ghost in the Shell 2 when it comes out in January.

That's out on Bluray? How is the quality?
Edit: Jeez, retails for $80(Though Amazon has it for the "bargain" price of $60). I'm going to have to pick up a used copy. An excellent movie yet the DVD they released is so awful.

A couple more were added to my collection over the holidays...
Dr.No
Possibly my favorite James Bond flick. Sure the movie is 70% dialogue but for this flick that's only a good thing. Picture quality is amazing. So many details and such that I've never been able to see before, it's amazing how good this looks for a movie made in 1962.
For Your Eyes Only
My favorite Roger Moore Bond flick and one of my favorite Bond flicks in general. It easily has the best chase scene in the series with the ski sequence. Sadly it doesn't look as good as Dr.No despite having been made 20 years later but it still looks much better than the DVDs that are available. Definitely worth picking up.

My apologies for the late reply.
Much much better than that stupid flipper dvd. I wouldn't say it looks amazing but still really nice. I think they artificially sharpened some parts but otherwise you can't go wrong.

I got Day of the Dead on bluray and it looks stupendous. It has all the extras from the dvd too. Any fan of blood or Tom Savini will want to watch the second documentary they included. It has a ton of personal footage from Tom Savini making, test and shooting all the blood and guts special effects. It was a dream come true for me.

That's pretty cool. I've only seen the movie on VHS so the idea of hd picture and widescreen is quite appealing.
Though speaking of blurays of low budget 80's flicks, I highly recommend the bluray of The Thing. I dunno how but the transfer is excellent. Better looking than most blurays movies made a decade(Or even two) later even. It also happens to be a great movie. One of the few times the remake was better than the original.
Next, Blade Runner. I bought the 5 disc set and am very pleased with it. The picture quality is crisp and colorful(As much as is needs to be anyway, this is a dark movie) and the sound is beautiful. It also gave me a chance to check out the new Final Cut which I've found to be the best version available. Even if you don't agree you get the theatrical cut, "director's cut", International cut and a rare Workprint version(haven't watched this yet). On top of that it's loaded with extra features.
The movie itself is excellent, especially the visuals. The cinematography is second to none, the lighting is among the best in any movie and the art direction is incredibly inspired and has been cloned many a time since. I highly recommend this movie.

Some new stuff:
Akira: Still a solid movie. Picture quality is excellent and I'm not sure how much cleaner the image can get. Outside of scenes where they deliberately have some sort of filter (Like in the bar for example) it almost looks like you're viewing the actual cels. The only negative is it's complete lack of extras.
Rambo III: The weakest of the series but still a ton of fun imo. Picture quality is really nice and the extras are ok. Not much to say, it's Rambo III, you know what to expect.
Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut: Definitely an improvement over the original version. The added footage really helps though the new ending was weak. Picture quality looks excellent for a 70's movie and the Sesame Street colors really explode in your face.

Wow this thread is a different world compared to now. :D
Anyway, resurrection time.
Licence to Kill: I know this is one of the lesser Bond flicks but I've always enjoyed it and feel Dalton was underrated as Bond. The transfer is very good which is impressive considered how cheapy this movie always looked.
Watchmen: As someone who's read the comic, I'd say this movie is proof that the comic cannot be adapted to movie form without some heavy changes. Nevertheless as a fanservice piece it worked out quite well and the video transfer was really nice. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't seen this to read the comic first as this is more of a love letter to the comic fans and is much easier to appreciate after having read said comic.

Ah, I love blu-ray! Ever since I watched Curse of the Golden Flower last year on it, I never looked back at DVD (unless something comes out for it that I cannot get on blu-ray at all). I buy everything on blu-ray, now.
My collection:
300 - A visual masterpiece already, but on blu-ray, its transfer is among the best. I haven't watched the entire thing (haven't gotten around to it), but what I have watched is flat out astonishing. I only have the initial release, though it's the same quality as the newly-released double-dip "300: The Complete Experience".
Appleseed Ex Machina - It lacks the detail of recent CG movies (FFVII: Advent Children; anything from Pixar), but it looks vibrant, colorful, and clear. It's a nic overall picture, and it's the best it can do considering the shortcomings of the CG, which can't be helped. It's a pretty good movie overall with plenty of action. John Woo took part in the production, though it's still not as flashy as Hard-Boiled.
007: Casino Royale 2-Disc Collector's Edition - I LOVE this movie. It's rather long, but the plot is excellent, and Daniel Craig is a great, fresh take on the classic character of James Bond. Lots of raw action and intricate plot points. The picture quality is top notch and one of the better transfers I've seen on blu-ray, which makes me happy as it's one of my favorites that I own on the format. I bought it at $30, but now you can get it for around $12 on Amazon. That's a steal for a great movie.
007: Quantum of Solace - Saw this in theaters, and it looks even better on blu-ray. Not as good as Casino Royale, but it still has a strong plot. The fight scenes are even better than the last movie, though, as if you know the storyline leading from the last movie, he's pretty ticked. Excellent choreography. Overall a clean transfer for a great movie.
Curse of the Golden Flower - Besides the copy of Spider-Man 3 that came with my 40GB PS3, this was my first blu-ray. My jaw dropped when I saw the picture on this. Every little detail in the armor was prevalent, and the intricate design of the rooms and houses in the movie really pop off the screen. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The plot itself is not what you'd expect. You see Chow Yun Fat on the front in armor and expect lots of fighting, but I'm telling you now, fighting takes a back seat to the plot here.
Enter the Dragon - My latest blu-ray purchase, it was only $9.99 on Amazon. The picture quality is actually pretty good, though not as good as the Bond re-releases. You can still see a lot of white "pops" here and there on the screen, and the sound is a bit muffled. As for the plot, it's a Bruce Lee classic. No more needs to be said. Just sit back and enjoy.
Jet Li's Fearless - A very good Jet Li flick with lots of ridiculously awesome fights. It looks crisp and clear on blu-ray and is also well over 2 hours long in the Director's Cut included along with the Theatrical and Unrated Cuts that also inhabit the disc. A slick package that looks great and is a joy to watch.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete - Some people love it, some hate it, I'm actually one of the former. This, however, is the definitive version of the film. I mean, hell, they redid the ending for Crisis Core and added it into the movie. That was one of the most epic endings to a game I've ever seen, and when I saw it, I was like "Holy ****!". As for the picture, this is, by far, the most gorgeous movie to ever be produced. Words can't do it justice. The blu-ray transfer is immaculate, so much that Bahamut actually looks real at times. I'm not kidding. I was blown away by the video quality. If you ever need proof that blu-ray is worth it, watch this. It is astonishing.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - People hate it for it's plot, but I found it rather enjoyable for the most part. The CG definitely shows it's age in this transfer, but it cant be helped, and it is a well done blu-ray package. Square-Enix's cutscenes in video games look better than this now.
The Forbidden Kingdom - Haven't watched it yet and I've owned it since last November lol. I have seen the movie, though, and it's a fun little action romp. There's an awesome fight scene between Jet Li and Jackie Chan that lasts close to 10 minutes and really shows that, despite their age, they can still put on a good fight scene.
007: From Russia With Love - I bought this because I heard it's one of the best Bond movies of all time, and just so I could see how well blu-ray could transfer older movies. Well, the sound is beyond repair, and it's obvious once you hear how muffled it is. The video looks very well done, though, and the only thing that made it look old was what everyone was wearing/using. Otherwise, it looks like it could have been shot yesterday. As for the plot, I wasn't impressed, and was more confused than anything. Connery is an awesome Bond, though.
Hitman - Haven't watched this on blu-ray yet, either, and I've had it since last Christmas. Critics panned it, and so do many others, but I found it a nice, albeit different, take on Agent 47. The girlfriend deal is dumb as hell and only forces nudity into the movie, but otherwise, the plot is good and the action is great.
The Incredible Hulk - Saw this one in theaters the day after opening day. Great super hero flick. Not exactly sure how close it is to the comics, but I could really care less as long as it makes a great movie and does the character justice, which it does. The transfer on this is flawless, of course, and every ripple can be seen in the Hulk. Hulk almost looks lifelike, in a way.
The Italian Job - Got this in a 2-pack for $20 with Shooter. A good movie overall. Edward Norton is the freakin' man. The guy can play anything. The transfer is crisp and clear; just what you'd expect from blu-ray.
Kiss of the Dragon - Another Jet Li movie, though far from an epic. It has some cool fight scenes though. The transfer is a little grainy for a blu-ray, which is weird since it isn't that old of a movie, but it certainly looks its best.
Max Payne - I've never had the privilege of playing the games, but I know the plot is nothing like them. It is quite a different take on the character, but I actually really enjoyed it. The transfer is crisp and clear, as usual.
The One - Jet Li fights himself! Fun movie, and the final fight scene is pretty awesome. The special effects show their age, but otherwise, blu-ray makes the movie look much better.
Resident Evil: Degeneration - The plot is pretty good, the CG could have used more work, but it looks well-detailed on blu-ray. A fun little action romp for fans of the series who are tired of games that having nothing to do with real zombies anymore. This goes back to the good 'ole T-virus days.
Shooter - A great movie with a well-developed plot, as well as some pretty cool action scenes. Looks fantastic on blu-ray, especially after my dad watched it on TV in standard def one night. Kicks SDTV right in the nuts.
Spider-Man: The High-Definition Trilogy - The first was fantastic, the second amazing, the third a train wreck, but it all looks absolutely awesome on blu-ray. I remember seeing the first on opening day. My mom actually stood in a long freakin' line for tickets. That was a night I'd never forget. I've always been a huge Spidey fan, so seeing the movie on opening day was a big deal for me. The next two I saw on DVD as they came out, as I never got around to going to the movies to see them. This will be a trilogy I'll watch over and over again as years go by, and I'm glad I've got it on blu-ray.
I have a second copy of Spider-Man 3 that came with my PS3, so that counts towards my collection as well.
Taken - The best movie so far this year. Liam Neeson is the freakin' man. The fight scenes are absolutely awesome in this movie, and the stuff he think up an plots to find his daughter is clever. It looks great on blu-ray as well, as all recent movies should.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Film Collection - Cowabunga!! I have fond memories of watching the first two movies. Warner Bros. slipped up with the transfer on the first movie. There's a LOT of grain, and by far one of the worst transfers I've seen so far for a re-release. It's still the best it's ever looked, considering it was a low-budget flick from what I hear, but it could have been much better. Secret of the Ooze is my personal fave of the collection, and the transfer could have been much clearer on that, as well, though not nearly as much as grain as the first movie, so it still looks very good for its age. "Turtles in Time", as it's wrongly subtitled (seriously Warner Bros., WTF? How DARE you compare it with the awesome SNES/Arcade game that rightfully holds that name!) is the best transfer os the three live-action flicks, ironically enough. The animatronics are so terrible, though, and not to mention one key villains whatsoever from the TMNT universe. TMNT (the 2007 CG flick) I saw in theaters the day after it came out, and I highly enjoy it to this day. Blu-ray makes the movie so much better, though. The CG really stands out, it looks so colorful, and every detail all the way down to the pores in the Turtles stands out. The fight scene in the rain between Leo and Raph is a sight to behold: it is one of the greatest scenes ever produced in the history of CG movies. It animates wonderfully. I also own TMNT separately that I got last year for Christmas, so that makes two copies of it, in all.
Ultimate Avengers Collection - Both of the Ultimate Avengers animated movies. I haven't watched either on blu-ray yet, and I've only seen the first one on DVD. It was pretty good, as I enjoyed the darker side of the Avengers and a more mature take on them.

Braveheart: Nice transfer for a great movie and tons of extras. You've probably seen the movie by now and if you haven't, the bluray is the best way to do so.
Crank 2: Part 1 was stupid but fun. Part 2 picks up right where part 1 ended but kinda puts an already insane movie into overdrive. A bit much but not terrible. The transfer itself looks amazing though, one of the best on bluray.
Halloween: Rob Zombie's Halloween. Two hour movie; the enitre first hour was an origin story that could have led into a completely different and fun slasher flick. The second hour is just a horrific remake of Halloween, there's no pay-off for exposing his entire origin and there's really no reason to watch it over the original. Bluray transfer is also one of those transfers that doesn't look better than DVD unless you view them side by side. Watch the first hour then quit.

Rocky Bluray Collection: Picked up the Rocky 1-6 bluray collection and the results are mixed. Rocky and Rocky Balboa are clearly just the discs from the existing versions placed in this set. If you're familiar with the standard blur-ray release of these two then you know what to expect. Rocky 2-5 are decent in quality but nothing special. I'd say a 3/5 in picture quality with some sequences dropped to as low as a 2. Better than DVD but not as good as say, the Rambo blurays. No individual extras, just an disc packed with them. Collection is pretty cheap and it's Rocky so overall, I recommend it.

Die Hard Bluray Collection: Well I didn't own any of them on DVD so I didn't see any harm in getting the whole lot of them on bluray. Only watched the first two movies so far but...eh. Part 1 only looks slightly better than a good looking DVD which is a shame. Part 2 looks decent but still a 6/10 by bluray standards. Hopefully part 3 will look considerably better. I'm sure 4 will look great because it's just the standalone version packed in buuuut it's part 4....zzz.

Got a bunch of blurays in the mail from Amazon's black friday deal. Only watched a couple so far:
The Matrix: Movie still holds up well and the bluray looks great. Didn't check out any of the extras but it was worth it for the movie alone.
Robocop: Was so cheap I had to pick it up. Bluray quality is better than DVD but nothing I would call impressive or anything. Luckily, even though the case doesn't specify it, it is actually the uncut version. Great value at $5 but I'd say it's worth $15 if you don't already own a copy of the uncut version.

Finally got around to picking up the new Terminator 2 bluray. Picture quality is infinitely better than the first T2 bluray release and the disc is packed with content. Unfortunately it just has one fatal flaw. There is a 4 minute loading sequence upon booting up the disc and that's before you even get to the adverts and menus. Totally ridiculous. Movie is worth picking up, just plan to go make a sandwich or something during the loading sequence.

Question for you all. are you watching these movies on ps3 or an actual bluray player? Don't own one but I watch some at my Friends house on their ps3 and I hear movies don't look as great watching on a ps3 compare to bluray.
I'm not sure if this is true or the actual movie we say didn't look as good.

Lol. I'll leave its post though.
Watched two of my favorite Scorsese movies on bluray, Goodfellas and Casino.
Transfer on Goodfellas was pretty disappointing. Looked merely ok but it was cheap and the movie is awesome.
Transfer was considerably better on Casino though not amazing. Some scenes looked noticeably better than others but overall it was a good transfer. Movie itself is as good as ever too.
Got a bunch more blurays but I'll post about them later.

Watched the A Nightmare on Elm Street Bluray.
Considering how low budget this movie was I thought the transfer was great (It actually may have been too good as it exposed certain elements that even the dvd didn't). Sound mix is pretty solid and they still include the old mono track though the volume on the latter is way too low.
Extras are good. 3 documentaries (50 minute making of is the best one. Shame it wasn't even longer), 2 different cast commentaries with everyone you'd want to be in and then the usual junk like on-screen trivia.
Now there are 3 alternate endings which...are completely full of shit as they just appear to be some random students practice edits. Like the "Happy Ending" is the same except they cut out the Freddy car and mother being pulled through the door. The "Scary Ending" is the same shit as the movie except without the Freddy car. Then there is the "Freddy Ending" which is identical to the standard ending except when the Freddy car drives off they cut to some random deleted shot of Freddy driving the car. It's so poorly executed and made worse because in the making of they show a missing scene of Nancy screaming while sitting in the car with Freddy yet they decided not to use that...so without that it just looks like someone dropped a random shot of Freddy at the wheel of a car into the ending. So crap.
Thumbs up for the Bluray overall. Thumbs down to the "alternate endings".

Gundam Unicorn. Looks amazing. I originally watched it on a standard tv and it was nice. Got a hd tv not too long ago and it justs pops out. People always tell me animated movies on bluray look grand and this movie shows. Only problem I have is high price and lack of content. It's apparently Amazon exclusive (i think its only available on bluray in US. No dvd) for 40 bucks for 50 min episode. I bought it cause I love gundam.
I've bought a lot of bluray but haven't watched them all yet. Focusing on replacing a lot of my favs on bluray. Probably pick up Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang sometime.

Watched the bluray of the original Dirty Harry movie. Still a lot of fun and the best of that series by quite a bit. Eastwood is Eastwood which means he's awesome. Seeing San Fran in the early 70's is pretty cool as well. Great looking bluray considering the age and source film quality of the movie too.

Clarity, detail and color is noticeably better than the dvd. Blacks are much better balanced too. You no longer have those scenes that are pitch black if watched during daylight.
Course, much easier to just do this:

Watched through the G.I. Joe movie bluray. No not the live action movie, the animated movie from back in the day. Video quality is really nice. Seeing the movie displayed so super sharp even compared to the high quality dvd is very nice. Unfortunately the movie is presented in 16:9 which means they just cropped the original 4:3 resolution which makes for the occasional oddly framed shot. They included commentary from Buzz Dixon who wrote all the best episodes and was a major player in all the Marvel/Sunbow 80's shows (G.I.Joe, Transformers, My Little Pony, Jem, etc...). His comments are very informative, especially about the stuff they planned when they got the ok for a PG-13 rating yet were still cut (A topless Zaranna scene was set then yanked at the last minute). Only problem is it's one of those commentaries where they chopped up his dialogue and placed it at random intervals which leaves lots of dead space. Presumably this is so you can enjoy the movie at the same time but it's incredibly stupid and even more annoying when he references things he previously talked about but the viewer didn't get to hear. Oh well. Comes with all the goofy PSA minis as well (And knowing is half the battle!).
Solid bluray for fans. All it's missing are those old live action Sgt. Slaughter bumpers they played when the movie would air on tv.

Grabbed Mad Max on bluray(How could I not :p ). Very nice visual upgrade. Not as impressive as The Road Warrior but still looks much much better than the dvd and quite good for a low budget Aussie movie from 79. Extras are identical to the standalone dvd which is a shame and the bluray actually comes with the actual dvd from the standalone dvd version. I already own the standalone and even then I bought the bluray so not sure what to do this dvd. Still, it was free.
Also nabbed King Kong(1933) on bluray. I hadn't seen this movie since I was a kid so it was very interesting to view it again after all these years. Even now it's still by far the best iteration of the movie and despite being from 1993 the bluray looks quite good. It's also extremely heavy on extras with commentary by Ray Harryhausen(Who didn't work on the movie but is pretty much the authority on stop motion now that Willis O'Brien is dead), a 3 hour making of docu, an hour long docu on the director(Which is surprisingly fascinating), Peter Jackson's stop motion recreation of the lost Spider Pit sequence (Which a full on making of for that too) and a bunch of other stuff which i haven't even had time to get to. Really packed bluray.
More stop motion madness The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Easily the best Sinbad movie and either Harryhausen's best or second best movie. Picture quality looks very nice, especially the color - and I believe it's finally presented in the correct aspect ratio too. Bunch of documentary extras and stuff as well. Easily worth the $7.99 I paid for it.
Now I'm looking forward to the Back to the Future bluray trilogy. Can't wait to check that out.

I am the Day of the Dead bluray and looks stupendous. It's too all the annexes, on the DVD. any blood or Tom Savini fan wishes another viewing. This is the personal footage from the making of Tom Savini, and test all blood components, shooting a ton of special effects, and the intestines which can no longer be used. It was a dream come true for me.
Crank is the worth watching movie and I had just seen its second part which was so funny that i could thought even.
