We were talkin about this on the sega forums. Apparently i was also on a thread that claimed sega were going to take the sonic series back to its genesis roots, not sure if it was true though. Bout to go play some Virtua fighter 3tb right now.

Man, in it's short life-span Dreamcast had a serious lineup and that's not even counting the imports. I remember having to buy Dreamcast games every 2 weeks there was so much action. I miss the Dreamcast era and I miss classic Sega.

I still have mine sitting here. Great system. I really wish sega would get back to their old games, and do em right. Multiplayer golden axe, SHINOBI, altered beast, man the list could go on forever... Cant believe how much they left behind. What a shame. I could really go for an up to date streets of rage too... Damn them...

It's true. It's going to be an HD 2D Sonic game. Link is here: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/102/1022718p1.html
As for the Dreamcast, my brother never bought one until it went on sale at GameStop years ago and was no longer going to be carried by them. I have it hooked up right now, but I never use it. I've got MvC, Unreal Tournament (yeah, the first one, and it still owns :D ) and SoulCalibur on it, as well. I've just got updated versions and sequels to all three on recent systems that eliminate their use.

I didn't get a Dreamcast until February 2000, but when I did, I immediately knew which two games I wanted: Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure. Needless to say, a few days after I got the system, games and VMU, it snowed 8+ inches. This lead to a 12-hour Soul Calibur mission mode marathon (played most of the way through as Hwang, my favorite Soul Calibur character who deserved to be in SC2, 3, 4 and Broken Destiny instead of that upstart punk Yunsung).
A few months later, I picked up Dead or Alive 2, Power Stone and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. For a while, things were decent. Then in December 2000, I picked up Sonic Party, which was terrible, so I returned it, got a refund, and got Capcom vs. SNK instead. This eventually lead me to purchase King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999. While not the best KOF '98 port in the world, it got me interested in the KOF franchise (as well as King Of Fighters '99: Evolution). Months later, I purchased Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Tech Romancer, and Project Justice. Then, a few months later, I got word that Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Guilty Gear X would not be released on the DC outside Japan, so I imported both of them. The last Dreamcast game I purchased in the U.S. was a little-known title called Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves (it, along with NBA 2K2, was the last title released for the Dreamcast in the U.S.).
The following year, I nabbed imported copies of KOF 2000, 2001, Last Blade 2 and Twinkle Star Sprites. Feeling like I missed out on a few games, I also roped in Power Stone 2, Chu Chu Rocket, Virtual ON: OT and Gunbird 2 that same year. Then in June 2003, I purchased my last Dreamcast game: King Of Fighters 2002 (being able to play as Shingo and King pretty much sold it for me). Having marathon matches while at college was a real treat (especially hearing comments like "I never knew this game existed").
So, to sum it all up, without the Dreamcast, I never would've gotten into the King of Fighters series, the Neo-Geo, or next-gen gaming at all. It's still an excellent system, even a decade later (no wonder some people refer to it as "the last hardcore system ever made").

Definitely wasn't perfect but it was the first time a KoF game was available on console without the ridiculous load times (Not counting the actual neogeo version of course) which was a godsend at the time. The animated intro was also awesome.

This is what introduced me to Jet Grind Radio. So for that I'm pretty grateful.

The Dreamcast was indeed what brought me to KoF from the beginning.

ahhhh, the Dreamcast, what a great console i had alot of games for the Dreamcast.the VERY first Dreamcast game i bought was Capcom vs. SNK 1,i bought CVS1 along with my Dreamcast purchase.i bought my Dreamcast like Fall of 2000 at Wal-Mart.and the clerk said "you know this console is going to get dis-continued right? you probably shouldn't buy it".
and i said "yeah,im sure,i still want it".im so glad i was smart enough NOT to listen to that guy cause i enjoyed ALOT of games on the Dreamcast.my freind at the time had a Dreamcast too and we had alot of the same games so there was fun competition between us.we had alot of different games from each other too.i enjoyed
Dead or Alive 2
Capcom vs. SNK 1
Bang-Gai-O!
Power Stone
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Jedi Power Battles
Jet Grind Radio
Zombie's Revenge
Out-Trigger
Unreal Tournament
Soul Caliber
Dino Crisis
Phantasy Star Online
Shenmue 1
Shenmue 2
Dream Match 99(awesome anime intro)
Slypheed
and plenty of other games im sure i can't remember at the moment.so the Dreamcast did get me into alot of game series i never knew of.i already knew about SNK and Capcom before CVS1,and i already knew about KOF and SF too.Phantasy Star Online was my first online gaming experience and i met alot of cool people on there, even got into alittle romance on there as well.i was like level 80 or something,it was pretty high.
it was also cool that PSO was a free online gaming experience.i enjoyed PSO alot and i put alot of gameplay hours in that game my freind had PSO too,so we played together alot,it was really fun.all in all,i still own a Dreamcast and i have Mark Of The Wolves and Last Blade 2,i pawned my first Dreamcast and ALL my games to get a PS2 when the PS2 first launched, but i later re-bought the Dreamcast and bought MOTW and LB2.i still have the Dreamcast hooked up and ready too.the Dreamcast was a great console with great games and it will always be remembered.there were some Sega sequels i wanted on the Dreamcast and never got,but there were some great Sega series that were on the Dreamcast too.
