I hope so. I don't see why not, considering we're getting 98' UM. They can port it right to the PS2 or XBLA. I know I'd probably buy it, considering I've been collecting all of SNK's budget fighting game titles. If they put it on XBLA, even better, as they could add an online component.

XBLA/PSN release with good netcode for online play would be beyond awesome. You should really do polls on stuff like this on ignitionent.com (all languages) :3

You know I hope Ignition can get this hear much faster than next year or even before the end of summer this year. The game is already being praised and played a lot on the Shoryuken forums. And It would be nice to not have to import a game for once.

SVC wasn't all that great, but if they fixed the game balance and collision detection in the port, then I'd get it. Otherwise, playing it online would be unfair, as the game was kind of broken.

MotW would be great, as the DC version is pretty expensive and hard to come by. I good port with online would be great.

If they do, would you think they would be able to do a console first by allowing 6P online matches (3 on each team?). Try getting the GGPO netcode, its pretty much in reach in terms of being able to. I was able to exprience these myself some time ago via special application (:D) and I can say it made the gameplay just that much better. Very good for random, everyday play. Clans could be made so the pros and big-headed ego players can have there group ready for play but casuals and ol' skool quick play fans can have "MAX" fun just as well. Another interesting factor is the player-watcher aspect of this if it could be pulled off. A special "Spectator" mode via online can be added in. I'm sure at one time or another casual fans who aren't exactly up to par in terms of "pro-tier play" can still hopefully try and learn first hand to do's and dont's of how to play better. Hopefully, this post will be given serious thought. The true SNK faithful will thank you. :D

They HAVE to release this. I'm browsing the official japanese site (http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/official/kof2002um/) as of now and I'm awed.

It'd definitely be cool if they add an online component to it and that can easily be configured if it was a PSN download. But I'd love to have it as a disc format more like it. Has it been tested before on PS2 games that can go online on the Ps3 system?

Otherwise if no online, I can easily live wit that.

I hope so too. I've been playing the import version and I'm loving it. They fixed the two things I hated about the original 2002, music and stages. If this came out in the States for ps2, I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

i agree,if they do release SVC:Chaos it should be like SVC:Chaos Plus or something with more characters,better graphics,tweaked gameplay,and better hit detection.and a ton of more extra the music and the artwork in SVC:Chaos was pretty good so SNK can keep that.but extra tunes and bonus art will still be cool.SNK should just do a KOF98:UM thing with Chaos.

I seriously do hope that this title is considered to be brought over. I just got my imported copy in and have played it to death already. The challenge level is excellent (my arm is sore to the shoulder thanks to Nightmare Geese. :(), the character selection is top notch, being able to see the two versions of the game is great... even the little things like the water waves when a character takes a hard smash to the floor is nice.

Playing the Import this game is really hot. I reccomend it being brought over here. Trust me you cannot go wrong with this it really brings out the awesoness of The Nests Saga.

Well, go on PSN is fine but even better physical shape for PS2, it's very fun to play online but also have the disc it is, is a great game I think it best KOF to date, a shame that it would stop to download only, I personally prefer the two forms also the PS2 still sells a lot then what is the problem of launch of the two forms is also what they will do in the future with KOF 98 UM on XBOX Live, then I do not see why not do the same with this title, please Ignition of someone who becomes aware of the potential of this game and it brings a good look for PS2 and then leaving for XBOX Live or PSN, or anywhere, but first physical.

i would also be interested in having this game on the ps2. I just got kof 98 um for the ps2 and am really impressed with it. Like one of the people above me said, i would want to own a physical copy of the game, i don't like download only games, and i still mostly play my ps2 because of all the great fighters and rpgs that have been made for the system.

That will be around a year since its release in Japan. Remember, KOF 98UM took a year to be released worldwide after it was out in Japan. If there's no word on a ps2 worldwide release by then, I seriously doubt there will be. I'd just hate having to spend at least 100.00 or more (49.90 for game+expedited shipping and 40.00 for Swap Magic/Magic Switch v4+expedited shipping) when it may come out for $15.00-$20.00 worldwide. At least for those with XBOX 360 they can get it via download next year.

Ive been playing it also now since I got it. And to me its so much better than 98UM is, I still love 98UM a lot but its nothing like 02UM. It definitely needs to be released here in the US but with perfect transition from Japanese to English. No more fuck ups like past SNK games that have been brought out here and in the UK.

Just got the import. It really is superior to KOF 2002. I'm going to be busy for the next few days because of Thanksgiving. Have to find time to play the game and unlock its content by the end of the week. :)
