Just a thread for everyone to say what videogames they're currently playing and to talk about them a bit.

I'll start:

Gears of War 2: I enjoyed the SP and have been playing nothing but the MP modes since finishing the game. If the match making system wasn't so terrible I'd be playing this game 10x more.

Fallout 3: The first two Fallout's were some of my favorite games on the PC and I put countless hours into Oblivion on the 360 so this was a dream come true for me. There is almost too much content in this game but it plays extremely well and the graphics are stupendous.

Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix: Something has to hold me over until KoF12 and this is the perfect game for that. I spent my youth playing SF2 in the arcades and seeing it in HD nearly brought a tear to my eye. I recommend it to all SF fans.

Well Metal Slug 7 for one. :)

The Last Remnant is the main game I'm playing. Don't believe the reviews, it's a really good game. The big secret is that the game doesn't run well on the Xbox 360 unless you install the game. It's a very fun game, the graphics look good and there is hours upon hours of side quests to do. To use Mad Max's words about Fallout, there's almost "too much" side content.

I have Tatsunoko vs Capcom coming in the mail too. I plan to play that until my eyes bleed.

Following up on my previous post, Tatsunoko vs Capcom is astounding. Everything from the graphics, the music, to the characters is perfect.If you are a fan of the Capcom VS games then make sure to not miss out on this.

Killzone 2: Good game so far with some super production values. Like many I haven't really come to terms with the controls though they don't bother me like they initially did. What I don't care for is the camera is centered at your chest so you appear 3 feet in height and everyone towers above you. Game does seem to be getting even better as it goes along which is nice. Haven't tried MP yet.

Street Fighter IV: So addicted.

Persona 4: This battles time with VC when I choose to play something. It's damn good, but I am not far enough to say that it is better than FES was.

ive been playing metal slug 7 and pokemon diamond quite a bit.
I also am trying to get all of the large coins from the new super mario bros so i can buy everything from all the mushroom huts in the game. Its easier said than done!

MadWorld: Probably the most violent game I've ever played and it's on the Wii! It's kinda a cheap game but the funfactor is really high. If you're a gorehound then you'll be in heaven as this game celebrates violence like no other. My big complaints are about the camera and dodging. Camera is ok but kinda spastic while the dodging is done through motion controls on the nunchuk which sucks.

Resident Evil 5: Picked up the 360 version. Have it sitting here on my desk, waiting to be played. Have to wait till work's over though.

While Madworld is a lot of fun I'd say it's better off as a rental.

I agree with you on RE5. It doesn't really feel like RE for whatever reason but it is a great action game. I wonder about playing SP though. I did the entire game co-op with a friend and I can't really see the game being anywhere near as good if one were to play with the AI. Also didn't like that they turned a certain character into Nina Williams. Extremely similar skin-tight jumpsuit and the same exact hair. Hmmm...

Well.. I have now been recently playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom via having my Wii soft moded. I cannot tell you how to do this because I don't want to get into trouble.

Anyway, So Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is pretty fun. It has its fair share of infinites just like all the other Capcom Vs. series games. However some of them can be escaped only if you have 2 bars stocked. You can use something called Mega Crash which is basicly the same thing as Guilty Gear's Burst. However the character Karas has an infinite that deals too much damage too fast that the opponent getting hit by it cannot Mega Crash out of it. On top of that to make up for this Karas takes a lot of damage. I just hope that Capcom makes TvC 2 now with more characters but not too many just so that the game can keep in some kind of balance.

Haha, glad I wasn't the only one to think that she looked like Nina Williams. All my friends thought I was smoking. And lets not forget the jumpsuit is also purple! Good game though. Trying to unlock all the guns and what not.

Princess Crown (PSP Best) for the psp: Why did I ever get rid of my Sega Saturn copy? T_T

Okami for ps2: My second playthrough after beating it nearly 2 years ago.

Valkyria Chronicles for ps3: On my second playthrough and I still get teary eyed seeing Vyse and Aika.

Rock Band 2 for Xbox360: I just play a song or 4 from time to time. Love the White Zombie, Megadeth, Judus Priest, Classic Metalica and Children of Bodom tracks!

Namco X Capcom for Japanes ps2: I'm on chapter 22, where Strider is introduced. EPIC!

Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? for psp: Awesome...but hard as F@&%$! Reminds me of Ultimate Ghouls and Ghost...

Killzone 2 for ps3: A great shooter...although, I did grow tired of the multiplayer and constant Assault launcher-spamfests... :/

Well got Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 yesterday and been playing a good portion of it, but not alot (since I had work). I have to say if you liked the first one or DW4-5, you may love this. Game looks nice and plays well. They added more gameplay feature than the first. Just to note also, the game has no Japanese option so you're stuck with English dub. I actually enjoy the voice actors from Ocean production so I'm cool with that, but alot of other messageboards are swearing off the game cause it doesn't have JPN option. Those people are just babies though.

Wow you're pretty late to the party on that one. I really liked it a lot until every battle was taking close to an hour and the realization that there's a zillion stages.

Also I really think Namco missed a great opportunity to use those sprites to make a Pocket Fighter type game. They all already have enough moves for each character to make it work.

How is that? I enjoy the Cooking Mama games so I was curious about this title.

It's busier than the Cooking set. You have to keep up with the gardening.. like after every other turn, one planter will need attention. If you ignore it, it'll wilt and die. It's pretty cute actually. I had gotten it to help my daughter fine tune in her fine motor skills and it's been quite the challenge.

If visual novels count then I'm playing Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. The story is insane in more ways than one. Though you as the reader don't get any input into the game, as you read it the point is to make assumptions and try to solve things before they're revealed in the game.

For example, questions you should ask yourself are: Why are people being killed? What's the significane/purpose of the deaths? Are the murderer's threats meant to be taken literally or figuratively? And most importantly, are the deaths the work of a human, or something supernaturla? It's like a murder mystery with all the rules thrown out the window. Anti-fantasy vs. Anti-mystery is defnitely the best way to describe the situation.

You do get a cute little menu system that helps you keep track of who everyone is and any important messages in the story as you go along, so it isn't entirely static reading.

Other than that I'm playing Disgaea (PSP) and I'm on my second playthrough for Lux Pain (DS).

Rearmed is excellent. I recommend everyone interested in BC to skip the 360/PS3 game and pick up the DLC version.

Those games keep me playing but most of all is Killzone 2, great game, but the rockets are a headache if half of the other team is using them.

1: Bust a Groove 1&2 = I love these games, they happen to be rhythm based.

2: Persona 4 (Again) = I personally love the Shin Megami games, they are unique and set themselves apart from the typical RPG based games.

Street Fighter 4 -Just finally landed Ken's Hard Trial 5 and so happy I've done just that. Time to celebrate like I've won a championship game and then Viper's Trials will bring me right back down to Earth.

Punch Out!! Wii -Haven't really had a chance to really sit down and go through it like I'd want to. Currently at Great Tiger 1.

Super Punch Out!! -It was a slow day at work so I pulled out my PSP and put in some work. I'm about to fight Super Macho Man for that World Title Strap.

TMNT (360) -Easy 1000 so why the hell not. Smash-Up and that Turtles in Time Remake are gonna be baneeners later this year.

Castlevania: DXC -Unlocked all the bonus games except Peke and on Stage 5'.

Hopefully if my money hits right this week I'ma go cop Cross Edge. It has Felicia from Darkstalkers so I have no choice but to buy it. If I do then I'll drop dirt on whether it's good or not.

Yes, Turtles in Time remake would be awesome, but I'm hearing that it's suppose to be a remake of the arcade version. Not the SNES version which makes me sad. Still buy it though.

Yes, it should be a remake of the SNES version. It's implied it's the arcade version cause I guess the people that played the demo mentioned the layout is more similar to the arcade version. That and I think they weren't able to throw enemies at the screen.

Well I just beat the final boss now. When I wrote my post I was on Vision 6-2 I believe (or 6-1? Don't remember if 6 had two parts). I haven't been playing much. A few hours today and yesterday. I remember the game being extremely hard on PS1. Than again I was younger back then.

Klonoa 2 was good. Used to have it. Not sure what I did with it? I think I let somebody borrow it. I hope they bring over Klonoa 2 to the Wii. That would be nice.

Punch-Out Wii: I've gone into SP-O mode where my life is now dedicated to finding the quickest possible ways to defeat everyone.

Virtual-On Ontario Tangram: Loved it on Dreamcast, even better on XBLA. Makes me pine for a way to play Virtual-On Force.

I plan to play inFamous soon but with E3 so soon I won't have time until it's over. :(

Sorry, wish I could say. Played the PS Klonoa way back in the day and hardly remember the ending. I may have to Youtube it. All I can say is alot of the cutscenes are cheesy. Ending was pretty cheesy.

Playing Sonic Chronicles. I bought it when it first came out and took a break because I started to play another game. It's a really good game that probably was over looked. Only problem is I feel battles can take a long time. That or I need to grind more and get stronger. I hope Bioware makes a sequel.

Is that the PS2 one that begins with you cutting up killer snowmen? If so I played a bit of that, pretty fun. I was a big fan of the Dreamcast game though; especially with Duke from G.I.Joe(The 80's version) as the voice for Guts. :D


Anyway...

Shinobi XBLA: Sega finally released an arcade version of one of their titles. I guess because there was no Genesis version for them to screw us over with.
Uncharted 2 MP Beta: Great game but matches are too short. Matchmaking works much better than Gears 2 but it's still not on the level of CoD4.
Flower PSN: About time I got around to finishing it.

When my friends are over I play KOF 2002 (XII wen it drops), Mario Kart 64 (balloon battle) Battle Tanks, Goldeneye, and Super Smash Brothers. The last full game I played was Final Fantasy IV DS I think...yeah, it's been a minute...When I play single player games, it's usually a fighting game (at least lately). Sometimes when I'm bored I'll play a throwback Mario game or Zelda game. I have a Wii, so there isn't much there for me. The only good games that I've played on wii were SSBB Mario galaxy and Zelda. I don't have a 360 but my friend does, that's what I'll be playing KOF on. Games that I hope to get back to are Final Fantasy X (I've stopped playing near the end and I haven't played it in a half a year or so...), Secret Of Mana (Like FFX, I left it hanging...and it's been about 4-5 months since I've attempted to continue), and Chrono Trigger (I started the game in Christmas, and was loving it, but then stopped playing...for no reason...I just finished the fair so I am NOWHERE near the end...or the beginning for that matter)

The slowdown in Warriors Orochi 2 is just atrocious. I actually didn't expect there to be any, or at least to this level, as there was none in DW Gundam 2 (Which also looked better graphically too). I haven't tried installing it to the 360 HD. Maybe that would help. Luckily I only paid $20 which is about as much as it should have cost. For that much it's fun in a drawn out brainless way. I should also mention the voice acting is completely wacky. ;)

Man that game does so much right and just as much wrong. Decent overall though. I only had the JP version which was plagued by massive slowdown which I've heard was heavily reduced in the us release.

For me this week:

Fight Night Round 4: Gameplay has been improved and the graphics are still incredible (Why don't fighting games come close to this?). The Legacy mode is a bit convoluted compared to 3 and the create a boxer has been downgraded but it's a solid sequel overall.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves XBLA : Man I forgot how small the character sprites were. Gameplay is still solid. Haven't tried the online play yet but I'm hearing it's pretty weak,

Yeah there's really no reason for that without being able to steal quarters from the players. Luckily Final is much easier than the previous entries.

If you want a truly solid retro sequel I'd recommend Gradius V.

They're both solid ports and it's really the only good way to play part IV but they're still both super hard arcade quarter munchers. III in particular where the start back system is especially painful. If you can get a copy of Gradius Gaiden for import psx I would play that first.

Like every other orthodox heavy hitter style. ;) Faster than Foreman though outside his unique attack i don't think he's any different than Frazier. Haven't really spent too much time with him outside fighting friends. The game is so heavy on counters you can't just be Tyson and throw punches until they're dead.

Well, my impression on Cross Edge is that it is a pretty fun 2D RPG for the PS3, an Xbox 360 version is in development under the name "Cross Edge Dash", and the Xbox 360 version of Cross Edge is slated to come out in Japan this October.

And to continue my impression of the game before I interrupted with information of the Xbox 360 version of the game, the game is pretty much like Final Fantasy, but it is 2D, and you can have four party members at a time, and the game has a great line of characters from NIS, Capcom, Gust, Idea Factory, and Namco Bandai (I'm not too sure if any Namco Bandai characters from any Namco Bandai produced game are in the game).

You can wait for the price drop of the game if you want, I'd suggest that you should get while it's hot.

Really getting into Odin Sphere. I'm kind of surprised at how simplistic yet deep the battle system is. I really didn't expect that out of a 2D sidescroller, some of the bosses are ridiculously sweet, I don't think theres anything I dislike about it everytime I'm playing something else I find myself popping that back into my PS2. I wish we got more games like this in the States guess I'll have to start importing.

yeah i agree,i wouldn't mind waiting on MGS5 for a new ZOE game.i loved Anubis.i remember when Leo first fought Dingo in ZOE2 i was like "man,he ain't playing".:eek: Viola was awesome too.Nebula was an awesome boss:D i love everything about the ZOE universe,only thing i don't like is that the games are short.that's a common flaw with Kojima's games. :(

im currently playing "The Bouncer".i rented the game a couple of years ago and i thought it was ok,i saw the game for 5 bucks at Gamestop and i figured what the hey it can't hurt to get it just for 5 bucks.and it's a decent enough game i guess.:D i also love Beat-Em-Ups too so that played a big part in me getting it finally as well.Killzone2,Samurai Warriors,and Odin Sphere seem like cool games.i love Odin Sphere's art direction.thank you again Atlus for porting a game to the states that probably wouldn't have came over here otherwise. :D

The rushed second disc is why I'd love for an update on it. None of that 45 minute movie Xenosaga crap... just a pure, uncut remake with newer sprites, something to help the text roll a liiiiiiiittle faster, and a gallery section with full body art of all characters to start off, possibly even extending it to include a history of Shevat story.

I tried the Turtles in Time remake for XBLA. Basically the arcade game with all the life sucked out of it. The biggest hit was the music which went from classic Konami awesomeness into forgettable music I wouldn't want to hear in any game. If you're still a TMNT fan at this point in your life you may enjoy it to some extent but otherwise....bleh.

Other than that I've just been taking beatdowns in G2 SF4.

I love it. I've beaten it several times already, both online and off. I'm still trying to finish off the achievements for it.

Xbox Live was down last night (it has been for some people the last 24-48 hours, it afflicted me last night :( ), so I played through on single player with Leonardo and I actually managed to beat the game without dying once. If only I was playing Survival Mode, I would've netted that achievement.

I recently beat that game it's awesome is your name Nyarlathotep from the Persona series as well? He's my favorite persona in the game ironically.

BINGO! I love the Persona games. After Final Fantasy 8, I jumped ship and started the Persona series. Can't wait to play the psp port with the Snow Queen Quest.
