I just got this on Blu-ray the other day and it was amazing. I never go to the theatre so it was my first time viewing the movie too. I think it's safe to say The Joker stole the movie and even gave Nicholson a run for his money. Bale was terrific as Bruce Wayne and the actor who played Alfred was spot on. The whole movie was a Batman fan's dream come true.The Blu-ray picture quality was almost as excellent as the movie too. I haven't watched any of the extras but I plan to do that tonight. I recommend everyone pick this up.

I would say it's one of the best I have seen. The Pirates of the Caribbean series or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystall Skull(A movie I wish I had watched before buying) are the best examples of equal quality Blu-rays.

The Dark Knight possesses the essence that should always exist in the handover from comics to the big screen. It may be bold to say this, but this is the best superhero film of all time. There are at least 5 or 6 extraordinarily violent vehicle crashes, and everybody involved in each one walks away without even a bump or bruise.

It was fun, with wonderful characterization, cool Bat gadgets, and fun bad guys. A thrilling run from start to finish, and most certainly a movie I hope to someday own. It's unfortunate this film made a lot money as it will give the production team a false sense of accomplishment. In the event that they repeat this performance they will bomb next time around unless they catch another break with another unfortunate off set tragedy.
