Battle Coliseum was just pure fanservice and not a good representation of a quality fighting game.
And while its nature is combining different SNK franchises together. I still say mixing characters from Samurai Shodown, King of the Monsters 2, World Heroes, Last Blade, Aggressors of Dark Kombat) and KOF is not a good idea at all. The gameplay just becomes a complete mess like Mugen games.

as usual,you don't know what your talking about.:p NGBC is a great game and it wasn't fanservice,it was an ultimate fighters bash.some people would consider KOF fanservice if you put it in your terms...:rolleyes:

KOF was still uniform in what kind of characters it would accept in its tournament instead of getting too weird with samurai and mars people, and I prefer KOFs gameplay rules.

BC just got really off track to me, but ya it's a different taste. I prefer 3 on 3 team elimination instead of 2 on 2 tag team.

and KOF's gameplay systems feel much better and more refined that makes it more than just pure fanservice. But ya, each game has its own fans I guess. :p

i do admit that KOF does have deeper gameplay than NGBC this is true,but i still think NGBC is good in it's own right.:D NGBC has it's own unique system,and NGBC had some characters that people wanted in KOF for years but didn't get them because the character didn't fit,or the character wasn't top priority.NGBC IS that game where pretty much every fan got his or her dream character in the mix.;) so in a way,i guess one could say NGBC is kinda fanservice,but NGBC has depth,it's not just a fanservice game with bad gameplay and bad mechanics...i wouldn't mind a NGBC 2 personally.:D

All we have is KOF99 on the PSN

Japan PSN however almost has every SNK Game alive since it is an osakan based company just wish they gave PSN more support in the states and dont worry about it but yeah X-Box gets way more SNK love over here.

I think NGBC is a great game.But lots of good SNK characters were missing even though it's a SNK superstars game.Where are Gai Tendou,Jo Kusanagi,Ash Crimson,Alba Meira,Alfred Airhawk,Kuki Seishiro,Yoshitora Tokugawa,Sho Hayate????
I think that game deserves a sequel.But with more SNK stars and balanced gameplay

I would KILL to have this on PSN with online play. I loved this game. I wish I could play it more (PS3 not backwards compatible, and PS2 not in my room), but it was amazing when I played it after it came out. Unlocking everything only took one sitting, but still, with online play, the longevity would be endless. The game is great as-is, so all they need to do is add Trophy support and online play on par with SSF2T HD Remix and it'll be an instant classic.

In response to your mish mash of random characters...well...gee I guess you're right. Yeah I admit it. No game could ever be balanced or be successful by just having so many different characters, even silly ones that are green and from outer space, ever work ever. I guess I should just take this game back to the store and admit its ten years of success are for nothing. To Alba: Create a Japanese PSN account and log in, find the SNK games and buy them like normal and then play them on your English account. It'll work. Dunno if credit cards or points will make a difference in the two regions, but I know free stuff like Ad-Hoc party will work. The digital age makes it hard to keep games out of our hands.

Yeah there's tons of people that play it still... We're doing matchmaking at dreamcancel.com... We just had a session yesterday. Started with NBC, then went to 2K2UM...

I tend to run into a bunch of Japanese players also, and there are some who got a 360 just for this game (well it seems that way because its the only game some are playing)...

I'm also working on the wiki for the game at the same web site...
