Sorry for not answering this sooner.

The official story is such:
Lux-Pain is set in the historical Kisaragi City, a town plagued by mysteries from small mishaps to murders - with no logical explanation as to why these events occur. It seems "Silent", a worm born through hate and sadness, has infected humans and forced them to commit atrocious crimes.

The heroes parents, Atsuki, are the victim of such crimes. To avenge his parents, Atsuki goes through a dangeous operation to acquire Lux-Pain in his left arm, a power so strong that it turns his left eye golden when using it to seek and destroy Silent for good.

Gameplay wise it is an adventure game somewhat similar to Phoenix Wright though obviously without the comedic aspects. It starts simple with you going under cover into a Japanese high-school and using your power to investigate characters in order to find the source of the Silent which eventually leads to much bigger mystery/plot.

Yeah, there is. And the voice acting tends to not always match the words in the text. But the voices fit the characters pretty well, in my opinion.

I think this game is great, I agree completely with MandraKara about the unmatching words, great game, it shoulda been longer :P, oh and theres hardly any information about it on wikipedia, so im not sure how i would know if there would be a sequel (which im really hoping for), so if anyone hears about a sequel, please pm me. thank you!!

Hi. I've just registered. All I wanna say I love this game. Truly truly love it. I'd just finished playing & got the good ending (though I fail to help few characters). I like playing games, but rarely finish 'em. But this game, I can't put it down. Like some people say, it's like the Persona of DS. I will definitely play it again to unlock more scenes and gallery.

I know most of the popular game sites give this game poor rating. But I doubt those reviewers play it even past Chapter 3. I just hope Ig. USA will not let those reviews put them down and will continue bringing to us this kind of game.

I really love Visual Novel games just like Phoenix Wright, Time Hollow, etc..

I hope there will be a 2ND PART for LUX-PAIN (just like Phoenix Wright), same characters, new ones, and new story..

oh ya but i have a random question: how come yayoi's on the game cover? i mean, i love her, but i dont hink she as huge part as some other characters...... it seems like natsuki or liu yee should be there......
